Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in wistful faith:
“I saw none of the other apostles—only James, the Lord’s brother.”
(Galatians 1:19)
I’d settle for that, Jesus.
Oh, to spend an hour with Your half-brother James!
At first, he didn’t believe in You, did he?
None of your brothers did.
He thought You had a holier-than-thou complex
until the day he discovered:
That was no complex.
It was a fact.
What did he think when he heard You were telling people they had to hate their brothers, if they wanted to be Your disciples?!
I’m sure Satan had a heyday with that.
But then they killed You.
After You rose from the dead
You appeared to him.
Suddenly, everything changed.
If only I could ask him how that felt!
But that’s all right.
Only a little longer…
and I’ll have an eternity of opportunity to get to know Your brother…
who’s also mine.
