Lazaroo – Wednesday, February 1, 2012

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in utter dependence on God:
“Then all of you came to me and said, ‘Let us send men ahead to spy out the land for us and bring back a report about the route we are to take and the towns we will come to.’”
(Deuteronomy 1:22)
Moses had to feel good about that idea, Jesus.
It was on mission.
It seemed prudent.
It was popular with the majority of the people.
It made sense.
But it was a disaster.
Maybe because most of the spies they selected
weren’t right for the job.
Maybe because the people they sent
misunderstood their assignment.
But whatever it was, when the majority report came back
Israel chickened out.
It cost them 40 years
kept an entire generation out of the Promised Land.
LORD, is there anything I’m about to do that
everybody likes
makes perfect sense
but just happens to be dead wrong?
If so…I’m all ears.
