Lazaroo – Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Allow truth to dawn in your soul, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ…”
(2 Thessalonians 2:1)
It’s been 2,000 years, Jesus –
and still You haven’t come.
When You left the first time, You said You’d be back.
But after all this time…
we’re still waiting.
For some, that’s a deal-killer.
They think the length of time that has passed
proves it’s never going to happen.
I can sympathize.
2,000 years is a long time.
But their objection makes me wonder:
What if You had returned in a year?
or after ten years?
What if You had returned after a century
or at the end of the first thousand years?
Would that have done it for them?
Would they then be convinced?
Well, no…
because if You had come back that soon
they would have been left out.
You haven’t delayed Your coming because of procrastination.
You’re holding back – just a little longer –
out of love.
