Lazaroo – Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Unashamedly pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud to God:
“The temple I am going to build will be great, because our God is greater than all other gods.”
(2 Chronicles 2:5)
That statement wouldn’t be well-received today, Jesus.
Political correctness doesn’t mind that I worship “the god of my choice”
but it demands that I not compare my God to other gods.
Above all, I shouldn’t say my God is better than all other gods.
To the modern ear, that sounds exclusivist.
Come to think of it – it probably wasn’t well-received back then, either.
All those other gods had loyal followers.
They wouldn’t have taken too kindly to Solomon’s words.
So pretty much for all time –
to say that You’re greater than all other gods
is frowned upon
vigorously opposed
and in some places at some times
might even get me killed.
But I have no choice!
I have to say it!
because it’s true.
