Lazaroo – Sunday, December 4, 2011
No comments, Dec 04, 2011
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning zeal:
“Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Peter and stayed with him fifteen days.”
(Galatians 1:18)
I’d have given anything to be in that room, Jesus!
Paul and Peter – meeting for the first time
behemoths of the Christian faith.
Of course, they didn’t start out that way.
Peter was a big talker
an impulsive man who had trouble backing up his words.
Paul started out as Saul, Your enemy –
a blasphemer and violent persecutor.
You love to do that, don’t You –
take on people considered losers
ones others have dismissed, given up on –
fill them with Yourself
work with them day after day
mold them, shape them, remake them
refashion them atom by atom
then unleash them on an unsuspecting world
and watch them shake things up.
I’m no Paul.
No Peter.
But that’s exactly what I’m begging You to do
with me.
