Lazaroo – Friday, December 2, 2011
No comments, Dec 02, 2011
Proceed with confidence, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“For we do not write you anything you cannot read or understand.”
(2 Corinthians 1:13)
That’s good to know, Jesus.
Because sometimes when I open my Bible and start to read
I don’t understand.
Thankfully, most of what I read in Your Word is pretty straightforward.
All I have to do is believe.
But frankly, some of the things I read
baffle me
worry me
upset me
anger me
scare me
On top of that, some of the things I hear preached, taught, or written about Your Word
make me go, “Huh?”
I’m never quite sure if they’ve got it wrong
or I’m just stupid.
I want to be teachable, LORD…
but You’ve warned me to watch out for false teachers.
I know You’ve promised to walk me through all this.
But I can’t just be a reader of Your Word, can I?
You actually expect me
to study.
