Lazaroo – Thursday, November 3, 2011
No comments, Nov 03, 2011
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with trembling anticipation:
“I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me.”
(Revelation 1:12)
I can only imagine the thoughts that were racing through his mind, Jesus.
It was a Sunday.
John was on the island to which he had been banished for telling people about You.
He had been spending time in prayer
surrendering himself to You and Your will.
Utterly abandoning his own agenda, he was
worshiping
loving
trusting
yielding
listening
in the Spirit.
That was when he heard Your voice behind him –
not a whisper, this time
loud – like a trumpet
telling him exactly what You wanted him to do.
How many times have I longed to hear Your voice, LORD –
telling me exactly what You want me to do?
But You gave John this coveted experience only after
a lifetime of service
much suffering
while he was in the Spirit.
There’s no shortcut, is there?
