Lazaroo – Saturday, October 29, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with sober reflection:
“…those you had forbidden to enter your assembly.”
(Lamentations 1:10)
Who would that be, Jesus?
dirty, rotten, no-good sinners?
No, You love those guys!
You want them to come to You just as they are
broken, humbled, ready to change
longing to be delivered, freed, cleansed of their sins
which is how I got in.
That’s the good news of Your salvation I’m helping You proclaim throughout the world:
“Whoever will – come on in!”
So who does that leave?
Who’s not allowed to enter?
The only ones I can think of…
are the whoever won’ts –
the people who’ve clearly heard how good You are
and rejected You
the people You’ve cared for again and again
who call it “good fortune”…”coincidence…”
the people You’ve excitedly told about heaven
those You’ve lovingly warned about hell
who accuse You of lying about both –
but who are about to discover…
You weren’t.
