Lazaroo – Wednesday, October 19, 2011
No comments, Oct 19, 2011
Come to full, focused attention, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“…the complacency of fools will destroy them…”
(Proverbs 1:32)
I knew it wasn’t best to quit striving for improvement, Jesus.
I just didn’t know it would destroy me.
Everywhere I look, people settle for “good enough.”
But now I hear You saying “good enough”
isn’t good enough.
You’re telling me
no matter how far I’ve come
no matter what You’ve enabled me to achieve
there’s more.
So long as I’m drawing a breath on this earth
I haven’t “arrived.”
This planet is only a way station
not my final destination.
It’s the gym
where I work out
where I learn, practice, get stronger
not my home.
Not where I move in
but where I move on.
You want me happy, content
but never satisfied –
waking up each day to push farther
to my last day on earth
when at last I become
everything You created me to be.
