Lazaroo – Thursday, October 6, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with undiluted sincerity:
“…the appeal we make does not spring from…impure motives…”
(1 Thessalonians 2:3)
Most of the time I think that’s true of me, Jesus.
When I try to get somebody to do something
I’m trying to do the right thing.
Usually I believe it’s the right thing for them.
But sometimes I also believe it’s the right thing for me.
That’s when it gets a little harder to sort out.
I don’t want to be that person
who manipulates people for my own benefit.
I want to be a person who puts others ahead of myself
who persuades others to do what’s right
even if it doesn’t help me
even if it hurts me.
Because here’s what I believe about You:
If I take care of others
You’ll take care of me
even if it doesn’t look that way at first.
even if I have to wait
till heaven.
