Lazaroo – Saturday, September 3, 2011

Seek Godly courage, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:
“…the men did their best to row back to land. But they could not, for the sea grew even wilder than before.”
(Jonah 1:13)
Each time I launch a new project or try something different
I know something like this might happen to me, Jesus.
Somewhere in the back of my mind, I’m aware it’s a distinct possibility.
I know I can get in over my head
a storm can suddenly rise up –
something too big for me to overcome.
So why do I take the risk and try it anyway?
Partly out of denial, I guess –
I tell myself nothing all that bad will happen to me.
But that’s not the primary source of my courage.
You are.
I know if I attempt something for You –
something way too big for my britches –
that even if it blows my ship to smithereens
You’ll get me back to shore.
