Lazaroo – Tuesday, July 26, 2011

Pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo, from a heart overflowing with gratitude:
“For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.”
(Ephesians 1:15-16)
What an example this man is to me, LORD!
Not only was he thankful for these people
but he was determined that his gratitude would never die.
Like Paul, You’ve put wonderful people in my life
but all too often, my thanks to You
is one and done.
I’m like a spoiled child at Christmas
hurriedly opening his stack of gifts
barely stopping to say, “Thank you,”
before ripping into the next package.
Oh, Jesus.
Help me savor each of Your gifts
thanking You
again
and again
and again
until my life is so full of gratitude
that there’s just no room
for depression…
anger…
or self-pity.
