Lazaroo – Saturday, July 23, 2011
No comments, Jul 23, 2011
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with dogged expectancy:
“Elkanah went up with all his family to offer the annual sacrifice to the LORD and to fulfill his vow…”
(1 Samuel 1:21)
He showed up, didn’t he, Jesus?
Like always.
Nothing much happened this time – at least, not that he could tell
but he showed up anyway.
His wife chose not to go with him
but he showed up anyway.
You don’t mention whether he was sick or well
but it didn’t matter.
He showed up anyway.
Yes, it was habit
but it was a habit he formed out of rock-solid belief in You.
Well, all right.
Me too.
Here’s my rock-solid belief:
Sooner or later…
no matter what’s going on around me
no matter how bad I feel
no matter who chooses not to go with me
no matter how many times I’ve come back empty-handed
if I show up anyway
so will You.
