Lazaroo – Tuesday, June 14, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with white-hot fervor:
“…make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
(2 Peter 1:5-8)
Thanks for summing it up for me, Jesus – the “great eight”:
faith
goodness
knowledge
self-control
perseverance
godliness
brotherly kindness
love
My protection against being ineffective and unproductive
if I make every effort to build them into my life.
You’ve given me faith as the foundation –
the essential bedrock on which all these other qualities are stacked
one on top of the other
each leading to the next
each making possible
the one that follows.
Please show me
which one I need to work on today.
