Lazaroo – Saturday, June 11, 2011
No comments, Jun 11, 2011
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with laser-focused intensity:
“I thought in my heart, ‘Come now, I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good.’ But that also proved to be meaningless.”
(Ecclesiastes 2:1)
Oh, yeah.
Some test:
“I’m not really sinning, here…
I’m just running a ‘scientific experiment.’”
Uh-huh.
“I need to find out for myself
if my parents’ warnings were bogus.”
“I know this is usually forbidden…
but I wonder if it’s always wrong?
Maybe this is that rare exception that proves the rule.’”
“God wants me to enjoy myself, right?
This looks like a ton of fun – how bad could it really be?”
“The Bible was written a long time ago.
Times have changed.
Why don’t I try this sort of ‘gray area’ out just once –
you know…just to see?”
O Jesus.
It’s bad enough when I lie to others.
Please help me quit lying to myself.
