Lazaroo – Saturday, June 4, 2011

Pray this Lazaroo out loud, from a heart calm with faith:
“…not pursuing dishonest gain.”
(Titus 1:7)
You didn’t tell me not to pursue “gain,” Jesus.
You told me not to pursue it dishonestly.
Thank You!
I love that You want me to do well
to have everything I need.
You are so good to me!
Your generosity overflows into my life
in more ways than I can count.
Even so, there’s danger in pursuing even honest gain, isn’t there?
Once that become my pursuit
it so easily becomes my god.
How much is enough?
Just a little bit more.
Pretty soon I’m comparing how much I’ve got
with how much somebody else has.
There’s always someone out there
who has more, bigger, newer, cooler stuff.
Although I wear myself trying to keep up
I can’t.
Even if I could become #1 –
what good would it do me to gain the whole world
and lose my soul?
