Lazaroo – Monday, May 30, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in deepest gratitude:
“Moreover, King Cyrus brought out the articles belonging to the temple of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and had placed in the temple of his god.”
(Ezra 1:7)
It doesn’t get much sweeter than this, Jesus –
More than 100 years before
King Nebuchadnezzar had come in and sacked Jerusalem.
In those days
kings would remove the idols of the nations they conquered
taking them back to their temples as trophies –
mute proof that their god was more powerful
than the gods of their enemies.
But Nebuchadnezzar couldn’t find Israel’s statue of You.
You’re not manmade.
You’re the invisible, transcendent, Creator of all!
So all Nebuchadnezzar could do was steal the articles inside Your temple.
Didn’t matter.
It was Your stuff.
In a demonstration of Your Almighty power
You took it back.
LORD, the devil still has some of my stuff.
Take it back.
