Lazaroo – Friday, May 6, 2011
No comments, May 06, 2011
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in humble gratitude:
“The priest shall burn the memorial portion of the crushed grain and the oil, together with all the incense, as an offering made to the LORD by fire.”
(Leviticus 2:16)
Thousands of years ago the people themselves didn’t get to do this, Jesus.
They had to give their offerings to the priest to do it for them.
As far back as Abram – even before he was called “Abraham” –
You raised up priests who spoke Your words to Your people
and received their offerings in Your behalf.
On the one hand, it was wonderful to have someone easily accessible
another human being
someone with whom they could identify
to bring their requests and offerings to You
to receive Your answers and blessings.
But it had at least one major drawback.
It was…
distant.
But no more.
Now I can go directly to You
because I
am a priest.
