Lazaroo – Friday, April 29, 2011
No comments, Apr 29, 2011
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in grateful humility:
“Then Haggai, the LORD’S messenger, gave this message of the LORD to the people…”
(Haggai 1:13)
What a holy, exhilarating, terrifying thing that is, Jesus –
to relay a message from You to Your people.
What an honor to be chosen by You for such a task!
But on the heels of that honor…
comes raw fear.
What if I misunderstand Your message?
What if I understand it well enough…but fail to deliver it
accurately
clearly
completely
convincingly
fearlessly
compellingly
compassionately?
What if I get all that right, but fail to deliver it
to the right people?
Or what if I deliver it too soon – before they’re ready to receive it
or just as bad – too late for them to act?
What if they ask me follow-up questions I can’t answer?
I’ve messed up in all those ways, haven’t I?
But it’s not my perfection that changes lives.
It’s You.
