Lazaroo – Sunday, April 17, 2011
No comments, Apr 17, 2011
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed laser focus:
“Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.”
(Jude 1:5)
Well that’s precious little comfort, Jesus!
But it sure gets my uncomfortable attention.
I prefer to think of You as the God who always delivers me
not the God who might deliver me one day
and destroy me the next.
But it’s not about what I prefer, is it?
It’s about Your kingdom
Your plan of the ages
It’s about Your answer to that prayer I can so thoughtlessly rattle off:
“Your will be done earth
as it is in heaven.”
I don’t want to merely start strong.
I long to finish well.
Which means I need maximum incentive to stay fully engaged till I take my very last breath.
I think You just gave it to me.
