Lazaroo – Thursday, April 7, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with excuseless humility:
“…for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine.”
(1 Peter 1:6-7)
Other people can’t see into my heart the way You can, Jesus.
They judge me on my results.
They go by what they can see.
They have no idea how hard I try to please You
even when I fall short.
But the closest they will ever come to seeing into my heart
is watching how I respond when I’m under an all-out attack.
Do I turn tail and run?
Do I blame everyone and everything else?
Do my legs crumble beneath me in fear?
Do I turn mean as a junkyard dog?
Or do I stand like a rock
for
and on
You?
