Lazaroo – Friday, March 18, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with eyesight sharpened by faith:
“It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill.”
(Philippians 1:15)
Thank You for giving it to me straight-up, Jesus.
Some of Your spokespeople have hearts that aren’t right.
For them, it’s all about one-upmanship:
they’ve got to have a bigger crowd than the next preacher
more of the latest/greatest buildings and equipment
more praise from the people who gather to hear them preach.
What happened to them, Jesus?
Was there never a time when they were truly Yours?
Or did following You prove to be so much harder than they imagined it would be
that they just bold-faced sold out?
Is it possible that others of them are Satanically blinded?
Or self-deluded?
But thanks even more for reminding me:
not everyone is like that.
Don’t let me get cynical, Jesus!
Please!
Help me keep my eyes focused solely
on You.
