Lazaroo – Sunday, February 27, 2011
No comments, Feb 27, 2011
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, burning with emotion:
“The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.”
(Exodus 2:23)
I love this about You, Jesus!
You hear the groans and cries of slaves.
You pay attention to the pain of the powerless.
It’s so hard to comprehend this about You
because everywhere else in my experience
it’s not that way.
Most of the time, the higher up somebody is
the harder it is to get through to them.
The more power somebody has
the less likely it is that they will ever hear the voice of the powerless.
But there’s nobody higher up than You!
Nobody more powerful than You!
Yet You hear
the weakest
faintest
feeblest groan
of the puniest peon on earth.
Show me the hidden sins that enslave me
so I too can cry out to You
and be delivered.
