Lazaroo – Saturday, February 12, 2011

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a heart that longs to become more like Jesus:
“I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.”
(Revelation 1:9)
So this is what it means to be in You, Jesus!
I love the idea of reigning with You in Your kingdom in heaven…
until I learn what kingdom life is like here on earth.
It’s pretty hard to deliberately sign up for suffering –
to realize You intend to teach me patient endurance in the only way it can be taught:
by giving me something tough to endure.
Looking back, there’s no question I’ve clocked some suffering time.
Thanks to You, I’ve endured it.
But I confess I fall short on enduring my trials…patiently.
Perhaps it’s because I keep thinking suffering for You should be rare.
But it’s not.
