Lazaroo – Monday, January 10, 2011
No comments, Jan 10, 2011
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with holy discernment:
“Then King Solomon sent men, and they brought him down from the altar. And Adonijah came and bowed down to King Solomon, and Solomon said, ‘Go to your home.’”
(1 Kings 1:53)
I know this is what people are expected to do before kings, Jesus –
bow down.
Kings like that.
It makes them feel important.
It tempts some of them to believe they’re more important than other people.
But they’re not.
They’re just ordinary human beings
with a very important job.
I don’t run into too many kings in my everyday life…
but I sure do run into my share of people and activities
that try to rule over me.
Some of them I’ve got to resist with everything in me.
Help me, Jesus!
To others I owe my attention, respect – even obedience.
But there’s a line.
May I never bow down and worship anyone
except You.
