Lazaroo – Sunday, January 2, 2011
No comments, Jan 02, 2011
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud all the way to the marrow of your bones:
“Nor did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites living in Gezer, but the Canaanites continued to live there among them.”
(Judges 1:29)
This is a tough one, Jesus.
It’s hard enough to live the holy life You call me to live –
when it’s just me and my own sinful nature I have to do battle with.
But when I’m forced to go to war against sin, flesh and the devil
while surrounded by people at least as weak as I am?
The odds are stacked against me!
It feels totally overwhelming.
No sooner do I get prayed up, paid up and promised up in my 1on1 time with You…
than I run smack dab into somebody who’s taking a flyer
and wants me to join them in their little “sin excursion.”
O God.
Please give me the strength –
when I have to –
to stand alone.
