Lazaroo – Saturday, December 25, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in silent night wonder:
“John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, ‘This was he of whom I said, “He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.”’”
(John 1:15)
That had to feel wonderfully weird to Your cousin, Jesus!
John was born six months before Mary gave birth to You
but You were here before…
he drew his first breath
King David ruled over Israel
Moses told Pharaoh, “Let my people go!”
Noah stepped onto the ark
Adam named the first animal
the first blade of grass sprouted on this earth
the first star twinkled in the night sky.
There are those who are shocked to learn that as a baby
Your first cradle was a manger –
a feeding trough for animals.
So am I…until it occurs to me –
“Where else would the Lamb of God be born…
…but in a stable?”
