Lazaroo – Thursday, December 16, 2010
No comments, Dec 16, 2010
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with the humility that comes from obedient wisdom:
“They deride kings and scoff at rulers.”
(Habakkuk 1:10)
Don’t let me do that, Jesus.
May I never become so sure I’m right
so in love with my own opinion
so certain of my superior grasp of the situation
that I speak against the leader of my people.
It’s all too easy to do –
especially when my leader is evil
has an ungodly agenda
isn’t likable
isn’t the person I would have chosen
doesn’t have the characteristics I look for in a leader.
But before I get too carried away with those observations
please remind me who made the brilliant decision to set this leader over me:
You.
All of Your decisions are, in fact –
brilliant.
You know what I don’t know.
You see what I cannot see.
So next time I’m ready to unload on my leader
please help me bite my tongue.
