Lazaroo – Saturday, December 11, 2010
No comments, Dec 11, 2010
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with deep discernment:
“‘Her king will go into exile, he and his officials together,’ says the LORD.”
(Amos 1:15)
You know better than anyone, Jesus –
I’ve been there.
Exile.
Sent away from home.
A wedge driven between me
and people I love…
people who love me.
A stranger in a foreign place
among people I don’t know
who show no interest in knowing me
But exile is not always physical.
Sometimes the place I’ve always called home
becomes foreign.
Sometimes the people I once called my family, my friends
become strangers
people with whom I can no longer communicate
people with whom I no longer have anything meaningful in common.
If it’s persecution because of my faithfulness to You
I’ll wear my exile like a badge of honor.
But if You’re the one who’s banished me
show me my sin
help me clean up my act
and bring me home.
