Lazaroo – Tuesday, December 7, 2010
No comments, Dec 07, 2010
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with bottomless trust:
“And Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus.”
(Daniel 1:21)
This is one of the hardest lessons for me to learn, Jesus:
It’s okay for me to stay
where I don’t want to be.
To help me cope with this emotional wasteland
You’ve given me the example of a righteous man.
Daniel was ripped away from his homeland
carted off to a foreign land
surrounded by hostile strangers with appalling customs and values
forced to serve heathen leaders with heathen purposes.
That was exactly where You wanted him
exactly where You had placed him
because of the amazing things You were going to do through him
in this “impossible” environment.
If Daniel had allowed himself to sink into deep bitterness
focused only on begging You to get him out of there
he would have missed what You planned to do through him.
as will I.
