Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with explosive feeling:

“Therefore, if it pleases the king, let him issue a royal decree and let it be written in the laws of Persia and Media, which cannot be repealed…”
(Esther 1:19)

What incredibly blind, self-absorbed egotism, Jesus –

the very idea that any law made by any group of human beings could be so wise, so timeless that it should never be repealed?

Wow.

Who did they think they were?

They totally missed the Story behind the story, didn’t they?

They thought they had won their battles and conquered other kingdoms

by their great might
by their great wisdom
by their superior leadership.

But they had no clue.

It was You.

You are the one who raises up leaders and kingdoms
and sets aside others

including my own nation and  leaders
including me.

O LORD!

In humility, teach me to look for Your hand
behind the thin veneer of human events.
