Lazaroo – Friday, November 5, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a heart that longs for God’s wisdom:
“Then Solomon was told, ‘Adonijah is afraid of King Solomon and is clinging to the horns of the altar. He says, “Let King Solomon swear to me today that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.”’ Solomon replied, ‘If he shows himself to be a worthy man, not a hair of his head will fall to the ground; but if evil is found in him, he will die.’”
(1Kings 1:51-52)
Give me that depth of wisdom, Jesus!
Though I absolutely do not deserve it
I need it. Desperately.
Solomon’s brother had just conspired to declare himself king instead of Solomon –
an act punishable by death.
But Solomon knew the difference between doing what he had the right to do
and what was wise to do.
May I increasingly become a person who seeks Your wisdom
rather than one who demands my rights.
