Lazaroo – Monday, November 1, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in passionate submission:
“May your servant find favor in your eyes.”
(1 Samuel 1:18)
This is my prayer, Jesus.
I truly want to be Your servant.
I admit to plenty of times in the past
when all I wanted
was for You to bless
what I wanted to do
what I wanted to say
what I wanted to have
what I wanted to happen.
No more.
I’m tired of me.
I’m tired of what I want.
I can’t trust it.
Not just because I don’t know enough
to know what is best
but also because I’m not righteous enough
to choose what is best
every time
even if I knew what it was.
So, yeah.
All I want
is to be Your servant.
You tell me what You want –
I do it.
But I want to obey You so well
with such passion
that I find favor in Your eyes.
