Lazaroo – Friday, October 29, 2009

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with passionate focus on only One:
“I am thankful that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, so no one can say that you were baptized into my name.”
(1 Corinthians 1:14-15)
I love that about this man, Jesus.
No wonder You chose him.
He wasn’t trying to collect followers for himself.
His sole motivation was to inspire people to follow You.
Paul was willing to become nothing –
if only it resulted in an avalanche of people
calling on the Name of the only One who has the power to save.
That’s the mark of a true leader, isn’t it?
It’s never about him. Or her.
Only You.
But that’s not just the mark of a true leader.
That’s the mark of a true Christian.
I must decrease.
You must increase.
How ironic.
Only after I surrender myself to become nothing for You
do you stoop down
to make me great.
