Lazaroo – Tuesday, October 19, 2010
No comments, Oct 19, 2010
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with renewed resolve:
“As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. ‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will make you fishers of men.’ At once they left their nets and followed him.”
(Mark 1:16-18)
That’s the way it’s supposed to work, isn’t it, Jesus?
You call.
I obey.
At once.
But I don’t have to tell You:
It hasn’t always worked that way between You and me.
Sometimes You’ve called…
but I didn’t hear You because I wasn’t paying attention
or I heard You all right, but didn’t like the assignment
or I heard You and agreed…then procrastinated
or I heard You…but only did it halfway.
When I put it that way, it scares me.
How dare I respond to Your call with anything but
full, instant obedience?
Okay.
New plan:
No more excuses.
