Lazaroo – Thursday, October 7, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in sobered up self-assessment:
“…your friends will deceive and overpower you; those who eat your bread will set a trap for you, but you will not detect it.”
(Obadiah 1:7)
It would be bad enough to have my friends betray me, Jesus.
It would be even worse to learn that somebody I’ve fed has set a trap for me.
But worst of all would be for this to happen
and not have a clue
to stick my foot in the trap set by these people I’ve trusted
and not see it coming
to be dangling upside down by my ankle
from a fat rope tied to a tall tree
and have no idea how I got there.
That’s the kind of punishment You reserve
for those who flaunt Your warnings
who laugh at Your Word
who spit in Your face.
O God.
May I
never
ever
ever
do that.
