Lazaroo – Monday, September 20, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in abject humility:
“I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.”
(Ecclesiastes 1:14)
Thank You for giving me this glimpse into Solomon’s thought life, Jesus.
Here he was, the wisest man in the world –
thinking he had “seen all the things that are done under the sun.”
Wow.
No wonder he thought everything was “meaningless, a chasing after the wind!”
He hadn’t seen or experienced enough to know otherwise.
He just thought he had.
He thought everything was meaningless
for the same reason a person working a jigsaw puzzle would give up in frustration
with 3,000 pieces missing.
Don’t let me repeat Solomon’s mistake, Jesus!
Remind me of how many pieces of my puzzle are missing.
Next time I start to imagine that You’re acting unfairly or unjustly, please remind me:
I’m not that smart.
