Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in solemn awareness:

“This very day the Persian and Median women of the nobility who have heard about the queen’s conduct will respond to all the king’s nobles in the same way. There will be no end of disrespect and discord.”
(Esther 1:18)

Why do our leaders have such powerful impact on us, Jesus?

Even more to the point:

Why do You allow our leaders to influence us so deeply?
Obviously, You’ve designed it this way.
There has to be a reason.

Is it because without leaders

we stray like sheep without a shepherd?
every single one of us?
without exception?

But why?

Frankly, that’s hard to swallow.
Even harder to face and admit.

Why can’t each of us

make the right choices
take the right paths
do the right things
on our own?

But we don’t.

O God!

Since this is the case, I beg You:

Lead our leaders.
