Lazaroo – Sunday, August 22, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with Holy Spirit compassion:
“I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong.”
(Romans 1:11)
Paul sets the bar pretty high, Jesus.
When I long to see people, it’s usually because I enjoy their company
or I miss them because it’s been a long time since we got together
or maybe because I need something they have.
But Paul has an incredibly strong desire to see these people
because he has something they need.
He’s thinking about their potential –
about how amazing it’s going to be when they have the strength
to become everything You’ve created them to be.
So what about the spiritual gifts You’ve given me, Jesus?
not mine to use primarily for my own benefit
but rather, for the strengthening of those around me
because that’s what spiritual gifts are for.
