Lazaroo – Monday, August 2, 2010
No comments, Aug 02, 2010
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in utter dependence on God:
“… those who eat your bread will set a trap for you…”
(Obadiah 1:7)
It doesn’t seem right, Jesus.
In fact, it’s almost too much to bear.
I should be able to trust the people who sit elbow to elbow with me at mealtime.
We laugh together and swap stories.
We catch each other up with what’s happening in our lives.
I would think the people I feed would be grateful!
Instead, sooner or later, it’s entirely possible that some of them
will use the energy they get from the food I’ve served them
to harm me
abuse me
trick me
use me to help them accomplish their selfish purpose.
Why?
I don’t get it.
Shouldn’t the good I’ve shown them produce gratitude and loyalty?
It does with some
but not others.
You had Your Judas.
Chances are, if I continue to follow in Your footsteps
I’ll have mine.
