Lazaroo – Monday, July 26, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with awe:
“This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like chrysolite, and all four looked alike….Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around.”
(Ezekiel 1:16-18)
I’m trying to picture Ezekiel’s vision, Jesus…
These gyroscope-like wheels sparkled like the mysterious mineral found in meteorites, called “chrysolite” –
the only gem that comes to us from beyond the earth.
Somehow, that’s fitting.
But Your prophet’s description that most blows my mind is
all those eyes
filling the high, awesome rims of each of the four wheels.
These spirit-filled wheels sped back and forth like flashes of lightning
in harmony with four winged creatures
but didn’t spin.
They just…looked.
There had to be – what – hundreds of eyes in those wheels?
Thousands?
Why?
So that nothing before, behind or beside them escaped their vision?
Just as nothing I think, say, or do
escapes Yours?
