Lazaroo – Thursday, July 8, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with undiluted sincerity:
“…the queen’s conduct will become known to all the women, and so they will despise their husbands and say, ‘King Xerxes commanded Queen Vashti to be brought before him, but she would not come.’”
(Esther 1:17)
I don’t know whether “all the women” would have behaved that way, Jesus.
But it does raise a question:
Am I like that?
Is there anything I’m now doing
simply because I’ve seen or heard someone else doing it?
Don’t let me get by with a quick dismissal of that question.
I don’t want to be that way.
I hate it when I see others behave that way.
I may firmly believe I would never do something so shallow.
But if there is any aspect of my life I’m thoughtlessly parroting after someone else
show me.
And give me the courage to do what I do
solely
because of You.
