Lazaroo – Monday, June 14, 2010
No comments, Jun 14, 2010
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with total transparency:
“You answered me, ‘What you propose to do is good.’”
(Deuteronomy 1:14)
Agreement.
How sweet is that, Jesus?
Ha! All the sweeter during those times when I don’t get to enjoy much of it.
But not the agreement of people who always say, “Yes”
without thinking
just to get in my good graces
strategically, so I will “owe them one.”
Deliver me from those kinds of false agreement.
The agreement I long for is the kind that springs from
a fresh, creative, really good idea You’ve given me
that other thoughtful people weigh carefully
before nodding in appreciative recognition.
Of course, before that can happen, I’ve got to make sure my idea
is from You –
not from the imaginations of my own mind
pressure from my friends
selfish preference
Satan.
But as much as I crave agreement
make me willing
when the idea comes from You
to stand alone.
