Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in holy reverence and awe:

“The Levites, however, are to set up their tents around the tabernacle of the Testimony so that wrath will not fall on the Israelite community.”
(Numbers 1:53)

I forget this, Jesus.

Because of Your goodness, mercy and love

Your tenderness and compassion
the price You paid for me on the cross
the closeness and intimacy of my 1on1 time with You
Your warm invitation to approach Your throne of grace with confidence

I sometimes gloss over the fact

that You are holy.

When I read a passage like this, I’m reminded that I may not even come close to understanding what that word truly means.

Perfect love may drive out fear

but not reverence
respect
awe.

Besides, my love for You

my understanding of Your love for me

are a long way from perfect.

Shamefully, I confess that I still need Your warnings

to keep my path straight.
