Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in openmouthed awe:
“This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel. As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced; the wheels did not turn about as the creatures went.”
(Ezekiel 1:16-17)
Pretty cool, Jesus.
The four living creatures in Ezekiel’s vision were propelled by gyroscopes.
Oh, my God.
Without any idea of what to call these wheels he was seeing, Ezekiel was describing a device that had never appeared on earth.
Ezekiel penned these words in 594 B.C.
The earliest known gyroscope wasn’t invented until 1817.
You gave this humble priest a mind-boggling preview of a device that wouldn’t appear on this planet
for another 2,411 years.
Next time I marvel at a photograph taken from the gyroscope-guided Hubble Space Telescope
remind me to smile.
