Lazaroo – Thursday, May 13, 2010
No comments, May 13, 2010
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with eyesight sharpened to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading:
“…follow the tracks of the sheep…”
(Song of Songs 1:8)
That’s good advice, Jesus.
I can learn a lot by following the tracks of Your sheep.
Your sheep know Your voice
they believe in You
You are their door
they listen to You and follow You.
And why wouldn’t they?
You laid down Your life for them
and for me.
That’s the kind of sheep I long to be.
Of course…when I follow the tracks of Your sheep I see sights that grieve me almost as much as they grieve You –
under-shepherds who care only for themselves and not the flock
strong sheep who shove aside the weaker
sheep that go astray
I’m ashamed to admit I’ve been that kind of sheep, Jesus…
but I don’t want to be…
because even as I follow the tracks of your sheep
I know others
are following mine.
