Lazaroo – Sunday, May 9, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud all the way to the marrow of your bones:
“How useless to spread a net in full view of all the birds! These men lie in wait for their own blood; they waylay only themselves! Such is the end of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the lives of those who get it.”
(Proverbs 1:17-19)
There’s no shortcut, is there, Jesus?
If I want to make more money
You expect me to earn it.
If I want to get ahead
You expect me to pay the price.
If I want to possess something someone else has
You don’t want me to steal theirs.
You expect me to figure out a way to offer equal value for it
and get one of my own.
Am I violating this principle in any area of life, LORD?
Could this be the cause of some of my discontent –
wanting to enjoy a benefit
without giving up something in return?
