Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with a listening heart:

“Then Memucan replied in the presence of the king and the nobles, ‘Queen Vashti has done wrong, not only against the king but also against all the nobles and the peoples of all the provinces of King Xerxes.”
(Esther 1:16)

Like this queen, I need Your wisdom, Jesus.

On the one hand, maybe she was wrong to refuse to come when her husband called her.

Maybe all he wanted to do was introduce his beautiful wife to his banquet guests.

On the other hand, maybe she was right to refuse to come to her husband.

Maybe she knew he would display her beauty in a degrading way before a crowd of drunken men.

O God!

Please give me the wisdom to know when I should humbly obey

and when I should take an unpopular stand

that could cost me everything.
