Lazaroo – Wednesday, April 21, 2010
No comments, Apr 21, 2010
Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with Holy Spirit-sharpened judgment:
“Adonijah said, ‘Come in. A worthy man like you must be bringing good news.’”
(1 Kings 1:42)
That’s not always true, is it, Jesus?
Sometimes good people
bring news I don’t want to hear.
But that doesn’t mean it’s bad news, does it?
Sometimes it’s news I need to hear so I can correct what I’m doing.
But no matter how much I need to hear it
the truth can be painful.
It’s hard to thank the person who had the courage to tell me the truth.
But I should.
Anyone can tell me what I want to hear
but only a true friend would risk our friendship
to tell me an important truth I would hate to hear.
Is there anyone in my life who loves me enough to do that for me, LORD?
If so, please show me
so I can express to them
my heartfelt thanks.
