Lazaroo – Saturday, April 17, 2010

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with unashamed passion:
“Eli thought she was drunk.”
(1 Samuel 1:13)
Oh, Jesus.
This woman became so emotional while pouring out her heart to You that she was judged harshly by Your priest, the leader of Your people.
He thought she was drunk.
But she wasn’t!
She was in bitter anguish of soul.
She knew You were her only hope.
She forgot about her appearance.
She put aside what others thought of her.
She had to have what only You could give.
You felt her desperation.
You heard her cry
and gave her the desire of her heart.
If anyone peeked in on my private prayer time with You
would they ever accuse me of being drunk?
I know I can’t manipulate You by an emotional display.
But I have to wonder…
are some of my prayers going unanswered
because You can tell I just flat-out don’t care enough?
